Whitney Tinley
Whitney Tinley has a Bachelor’s in Music Education from DePauw University in Indiana and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from UGA. She has taught middle school orchestra in Gwinnett County Public Schools for 23 years. She just finished her 10th year at Trickum Middle School and has also taught at Lilburn and Shiloh Middle Schools. Additionally, Ms. Tinley has served as a conductor for Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestras (GYSO) for the past 10 years.
Ms. Tinley has been a LGPE and Solo and Ensemble adjudicator throughout the state of Georgia. She has also served as a clinician for multiple GMEA District Honor Orchestra events. She was a long time staff member at the Summer Encore Music Camp.
When not teaching, Ms. Tinley’s hobbies include playing jazz bass and traveling around the world climbing mountains. She lives in Lilburn Georgia with her husband and 5 cats.
